Hello Everyone!!!

Well our first challenge had 11 participants and we hope to improve upon that this month. Thank you to everyone that did participate and the beautiful work we have on display.

I just need to make clarify some of the requirements: 1. Base product (what the challenge is about) must be purchased at Whole Lotta Scrap (i.e. this months papers) and 2. There will only be one entry per person, even if you do a two page layout, your name will only go in to be drawn once. Remember, this isn't a competition, but a way to help others "think out of their box" and you possibly win a gift card!

For the newbies: Each month we will only have this challenge on the blog. You will be required to do whatever the base challenge requires. This is only for fun and your project will be displayed at store for others to get ideas. Your name will go into a drawing that will be held the 1st of each month for a $20.00 giftcard for the store. Again, only one entry per person regardless of entries.

And now the unveiling: You have to use these three colors (you can find them on the cardstock wall) in a layout. (Again, it is your choice how many layouts you want to make, but you will only be in drawing one time.)

You can do great things!!!

We have decided to put a monthly blog challenge out to all of you. Each month we will put something on the here for you to challenge yourself with. We have people asking to see layouts, so we're doing our best to accomodate by using your creativity.

This month, you will look at the layout and make your own using papers and embellishments you choose. The principal of this month's challenge is to use the circles, squares and edged paper. You decide the theme!

We will put them up on the back wall for everyone to see. This isn't a competition, so there is no pressure. However we will reward one of you. Each person can do one layout and their name will go into a drawing for that month for a $20.00 gift card from the store!!! How cool is that!!

The drawing will be the 1st of each month and the layouts will have to be at the store no later than the 25th of each month. Sorry, no exceptions.

We hope you are as excited as we are to see what everyone can make! So when you come in the store, make sure you visit the challenge wall!

You will need to deliver items to the store beginning Wednesday, October 5th and no later than 5:00 on Friday 7th.

Doors will open at 10:00. Cost is $10.00, you will recieve a number and labels for your items at the time you pay for your entry.

Please make sure the pricing is easy to read. The amount you recieve for the sale of your items will be reimbursed in the form of a store gift card. These and your items will be able to be picked up beginning Monday, October 10th.

All items left at store after October 14th will be donated to charity.

Cards for the Troops

Saturday, October 15th 10:00-2:00

Join Ruth in making cards to send to our Troops. They are given to the Soliders to send back to their families/friends. This is a free event, however, donations for supplies are accepted. Thank You!!!!

Note: the Crop Room will be in use on Saturday Oct 22nd, therefore cropping space will be limited.

Also:

Crop Room will not be available the September 30th and October 1st as it will be ScrapPink Weekend.

Secret Sister

Starting in October 4th you will be able to sign up for our 4th Annual Secret Sister Holiday Swap and Crop Party. This year it will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 1pm-5pm. This is a free event, however, everyone is required to bring a potluck dish. For those of you who did not participate last year I would recommend you sign up soon. The spots are limited to 28. The way it works is each person who signs up will need to fill out a questionnaire about themselves and return it to the store by October 22nd. Once all of the questionnaires have been returned you will be randomly paired with a fellow Secret Sister and will receive a copy of your Sister’s questionnaire to help you plan your surprise

Secret Sister gifts must be a minimum of $20. Of this, $10 must consist of new, unused scrapbooking supplies. The other $10 should consist of a personal gift to your sister. You will be able to pick up your sisters name at the store starting November 1st or if you prefer, it can be e-mailed to you with a copy of your Secret Sisters questionnaire. Please refrain from asking or discussing you secret sister at the store as you never know who will be there or who is participating. Keeping the secret is half of the fun!!!

Cards for the Troops

Join us for Cards for Troops on Sat Sept 10th from 10am - 2pm. With this being the 10th anniversary of 9/11 lets show our troops some extra love by making lots and lots of cards. From Our Hearts tries to ship out 12,000 cards every 6 weeks to 40 units. That's a lot of cards! And speaking of a lot of cards we made 541 for our August event with another donation of cards made bringing our total for August to 611 cards! Totally awesome.

On a side note, since we are having more and more volunteers come to help make cards, there is limited space available for cropping during the event. Please call the store to see if space is available prior to arrival. This is a valuable service in supporting our service members, thank-you for understanding.

Thursday Nov. 10th from 5pm - 9pm for a special Veteran's day event. We will be making Valentine's for the troops to send home to their loved ones.

Holiday Open House Extravaganza!

We will be closing the store early on Friday, the 23rd to get the store ready to "Blow Your Socks Off"! We will unveil all of the Christmas collections we have received. They are actually fabric covered like the uniform and the paper that matches the branch of service, unbelievable! We have: Marines (2 types), Navy (2 types), Coast Guard (1 type). We are already having to re-order Air Force and Army albums! Look over at the Emergency Services side to see the 2 we have for them.

Also, for those of you that are wanting Magic of Oz from Graphic 45 that we BLEW through, good news, 6 x 6 and 12 x 12 pads have been reordered. Also, for those that are Harry Potter fans, we will be getting in the collection kits soon!

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope each of you have a wonderful loooooooong and safe weekend. It's gonna be a scorcher so keep yourself hydrated and don't stay in the sun too long (I know, I sound like a mother!)

I wanted to give you a rundown of the crops and classes, just in case you didn't get the newsletter or didn't read it :)

Crops: Friday 1st, 8th, 22nd 6:00-12:00 and Saturday 16th and 30th. However, the crop on the 16th will be a Potluck Crop and it will require you to bring a dish (but cost is $5.00). In case you haven't heard, we have reduced the crop fees for regular weekend crops to $10.00. We no longer provider dinner, but snacks and drinks will still be available. You can bring your own food in, should you choose!

Hope your week before the long weekend is going great so far! It looks like we're in for a haul on the 100 degree weather for the forseeable future.

Speaking of heat......I'll remind you that we have a brand spankin' new air conditioner at the store, so it's nice and COOL here! (Hint, Hint).

A very big THANK YOU to all of those that participated in the Camp Live A Dream Crop and donated to this wonderful camp. All totalled a whopping $1104.00 was raised! Everyone should be so proud of themeselves. I know the kids are going to be so appreciative!

Just a reminder that we will be closing at 3:00 on Saturday for the holiday and closed on Monday. Make sure you read your newsletter to see all the upcoming classes and events for July.

Also, just in case you haven't heard, the fee for the weekend crops has been lowered to $10.00, as we are no longer providing dinner. HOWEVER, you will still recieve the 10% discount and the doorprize drawing will still be held.

I hope you're saying cool!

I want to apologize for the long delay between the last post and this one. As most of you know, there has been alot going on since the last birthday party post. However, I hope to be able to get back in the swing of things and keep you updated!

Camp Live A Dream Crop is Saturday, June 25th 10:00-10:00, cost is $25.00----This is a great cause and total crop fee is donated to Camp Live A Dream. This camp is located in Guthrie and is host to children with cancer. They get a scrapbook when then come and add to it each year. We have wonderful hosts that do this crop and includes meal and silent auction. Call the store to reserve your space for this great cause. WE ONLY HAVE 6 SPOTS LEFT!!!!!

MOVIE NIGHT CROP, FRIDAY JUNE 24TH 6:00-12:00. Movie will be "Just Go With It". Call store to reserve your space today!

Also we're already running low on the new Graphic 45 Magic of Oz collection and have just put out Simple Stories Life Documented collection packs.

We always knew how talented our customers are, but now wer're gonna show you! We are currently having our annual Valentine's Day Crop. With with plenty of food, cropping and laughs it's a HUGE success, just take a look at the pictures:

And even Leslie and I got in on the fun! For those that don't know Leslie LOVES Whataburger....hence her box.....she even Stickle'd the Whataburger!

I gave Stacie (who couldn't attend) my idea of what I wanted on my box, she ran with it! Soooooo cute!

We hope you'll be able to join us next year if you couldn't make it!

St Pat's Layout

Thought we would go ahead and "wet your whistle" on the awesome St. Patrick's Day Layout Vickie has made. The picture does not do it justice! There is alot of detail and as you can see, you're able to bring your picture's and put them down immediately, DONE! This will be the 22nd of March from 6:00-8:00 and cost is 12.00. Basic kit needed, as always, a payment is required when reserving.

Also, since we're talking about layouts.......do you have friends that are interested in scrapbooking, but don't know where to start? We will have a Beginning Scrapbooking with Tauri on the 21st of February from 6:00-8:00 and cost is only $10.00. This is a great way to get your friends addicted!

Also, look at these beautiful tags Vickie has made! We had to reschedule this class to Thursday (2/10) becuase of the snow......Currently, we are still planning on having it.
